The following are the rules in place for these boards. Rules are subject to change. v1.1 is as follows:
General Rules
Post Content
Signatures, Avatars, and Ranks
Any and all posts that do not meet these requirements are subject to deletion/closure, with possible disciplinary action for the user responsible for the infraction.
This is a privately-owned forum, created by a Popeye fan in no way affiliated with the folks that own the rights to him and his friends. Disobeying the rules as outlined above because the user did not read them or doesn't agree with them will not spare that user from disciplinary action as follows:
Three Strikes:
The above "three strikes" rule is just a general guideline. We reserve the right to also go by a case-by-case basis to analyze the situation and then take appropriate action.
If any user has any concerns with our rules please feel free to PM an admin to discuss it. Anyone and everyone who wishes to post on these boards must abide by these rules, and similarly anyone and everyone who disagree with these boards' rules is free to go elsewhere.
By following these rules, you will help to make these boards a safe and fun community for all. Thank you for reading!
General Rules
- Heed the mods and admin.
- Respect your fellow board members. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.
- Drama is for Turner Network Television. Keep it off of the boards, and don't be a troll.
- Take the time to read all "sticky" threads once.
- Use the search feature at the bottom of the main page to see if a topic has already been posted before posting again; however if someone does post a duplicate thread, yelling at them is not appropriate. Politely inform them that it is a duplicate thread and if you're so inclined, point them in the right direction.
- No cross-posting: Do not post the same reply in multiple forums simultaneously.
- Do not slander other sites and forums outside this board. Please help us keep a good name among the Popeye community.
- In accordance with Proboards rules (and according to them this is the Law) I cannot allow members who are under 13 years of age. As long as Guests are still permitted to post (which could change in the future), if you are not yet 13 please do not register.
Post Content
- Swearing will not be tolerated on these boards, and an editor is in place. Do not attempt to thwart the editor by using asterisks, etc. It's still swearing. These boards are intended for use by all ages, so keep it clean.
- Do NOT post back-to-back; if you have something additional to say after posting, use the modify feature to edit your last post. This keeps the thread organized and less cluttered. And it's only polite. The exception to this rule lies in the Open Mic Night forum, where it may be necessary to post back-to-back to fit in a long story or multiple pieces of artwork.
Signatures, Avatars, and Ranks
- Obviously, keep your signature and avatar G-Rated.
- Custom avatars are allowed, and suggestions for built-in avatars are welcome in The Cage.
- Ranks progress depending on how many posts a user has made on the boards. 0+ = Landlubber; 50+ = Swabbie; 100+ = Sailor; 250+ = Mate; 500+ = Old Salt.
Any and all posts that do not meet these requirements are subject to deletion/closure, with possible disciplinary action for the user responsible for the infraction.
