I've been emailed by someone who is wondering what orchestra(s) performed the music from the Fleischer Popeyes. IMDB credits George Steiner and Sammy Timberg as being responsible for the scores but would anyone know of a way to find out what bands/orchastras were responsible for the music? Some sort of studio band? I really haven't a clue. Thanks.

I couldn't tell you off the top of my head, but I know where you would likely be able to find out. There is a book called "Popeye: An Illustrated Personal History" that tells pretty much everything you would want to know about the cartoons. I have it in my other home, or else I would let you know.
Also, if you go to any store that sells Popeye DVDs, especially any of the 75th Anniversary sets, it might have the info on the box.
Hope this helps
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
