Does anybody recall when an artist (whom I think was named Bobby London) wrote a Popeye strip at some point in the 80's (again, I think)? I hear that his version of the series was very very different than any other. Has anybody seen it? What is your opinion on it?

Yeah, his style was slightly different, I like it. I have a London strip on my site, on this page. You can see it's more...I want to say "balloony". I mean, that's in regards to his art style. I couldn't really give you an opinion on his writing as I haven't seen more than two or three of his strips.

I have several books that reprint London strips and the Official Popeye Fanclub News-Magazine recently reprinted and serialized his "The Return Of Bluto" storyline. I enjoy London's strips very much. There's lots of wit and skill on display. Though some might object that they are too topical, as London ventured into the realms of political and cultural satire.
