Hello Experts!
I'm in a position to purchase a storyboard of a Popeye cartoon. The image is of Bluto in Devil outfit and Olive sitting down with a crown on her head saying "Ain't I Grand." The description is "Circa 1947" but the characters are not the redesigned Famous characters.
Does anyone know what cartoon this image was from? Maybe they've dated it wrong. brian

I find it bizarre considering some of the imagery--both sexual or violent or even both--that was passed by the Hays Office, this couldn't be. There are many cartoons where characters end up in Hell, including Seeing Red White and Blue! It really makes no sense, but those censor guys would have been great working for Cartoon Network.

Thank you so much. That was very helpful. I bought the image. But now as I look again at the examples on that gremlin site, the one I have is very, very clean and the characters don't look so concept. They seem very tight to the actual character designs. Hmm.
